Ben Thomas has made acclaimed Pinot Noirs for almost ten years with fruit from the Keeler Estate vineyard, located in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA of the Willamette Valley. These biodynamically-farmed vineyard blocks are cooled by the famous Pacific breezes through the Van Duzer Corridor and planted on shallow sedimentary soils that lie over an ancient seabed.
This Reserve wine is a specially selected barrel that showed the most complete and profound representation of the site and vintage. This Pinot Noir spent 20 months in a new French oak barrel, giving it extra depth and complexity. The aromas are led by dark plum with hints of blueberry, along with cedar and cacao and underlying layers of clove, cardamom and floral notes. The palate is medium bodied and displays excellent balance and length.
